What a wonderful age in which to live
by fulltimestudent inwhen i was young ( quite a while ago now) an old lady lived near us.
sadly for her, she had had surgery to remove her whole nose and what was fitted with a very obvious prosthetic nose, a nose that was instant fascination for small boys, who would often jeer at her.
i called her to mind and the difficulty she likely faced whenever she went out when i read this report.. scientists grow cartilage to reconstruct nose.

HOME SCHOOL and the upcoming generation of scientifically illiterate kids
by Terry inwhen i worked for a book store i became familiar with beka text books for home school.. i spoke with the mothers who came looking for them.
i realized something didn't smell right.. then, i realized there are a couple of generations of fundamentalist kids who have had no exposure.
to the scientific method, science facts or any conversancy with physics or biology or history as a result of beka textbooks.. in a nutshell here is the situation:.

Thanks for the article Shadow. The posters on this site love to act superior based on their perceived scientific knowledge despite the fact that none of them are chemist, biologist, physicists, or any other type of scientist. Not only that, none them have a degree in a field of science nor do they have any other type of qualifications. These people read a book on evolution and watch a few YouTube videos and then act like they're Nikola Telsa, Heinrich Hertz, or Leo Szilard.

Classical straw man. You can't counter my argument so you attack my character. No need to feel sorry me, I'm currently in college with a 3.71 GPA as a chemistry major and only two semesters away from qualifying for a academic scholarship. I could sink to your level by reading through all your old post and highlighting all your shortcomings but to be honest you're not that important and I have no interest in learning anything more about you.

Why on earth do you feel it's necessary to teach a 5 year old how to shoot a gun? Do you not think it'd be more viable to teach a 5 year old about reading, writing, and math? I've noticed people who love guns typically don't have a reputation of being educated or posessing any type of intellect. You've pretty much confirmed that stereotype with this thread.

"the world has never been worse" - not according to this website..
by disposable hero of hypocrisy innext week's wt is full of helpful encouragement not to believe satanic propaganda that might tell us that the world is getting to be a better place to live in.. .
well, i stumbled across this article here, that contains lots of so-called 'facts' and 'figures', i'm sure glad i read my wt first so i can recognise that this is nothing but lies, all lies.. .

That whole article is BS. They are twisting facts and omitting important information. Heres a very misleading paragraph:
"721 million fewer people lived in extreme poverty ($1.25 a day) in 2010 than in 1981, according to a new World Bank study from October. That’s astounding — a decline from 40 to about 14 percent of the world’s population suffering from abject want. And poverty rates are declining in every national income bracket: even in low income countries, the percentage of people living in extreme poverty ($1.25 a day in 2005 dollars) a day gone down from 63 in 1981 to 44 in 2010."
Notice they do not adjust for inflation. The value of a dollar has declined significantly since 1981. The gap between rich and poor has gotten so wide that just 85 people have more wealth than 3.5 billion people. I seriously doubt had they adjusted for inflation that the number of people in extreme poverty would decrease. Articles like this are released every year as propaganda to make people think everything is fine while governments continue to get overthrown, private banks bankrupt countries, and governments spy on everyone. You can use statistics to prove anything.

Same sex marriage legalised in the UK at midnight tonight!!!
by DuvanMuvan intitle pretty much explains it all.
lots of people are getting married at midnight tonight.. what do you guys think?
maybe if anyone gets called on by a jw this weekend you can ask them what they think about it.. im just glad because it shows that religion doesn't define our conscience, that basic human decency can prevail over time and hopefully, these types of gradual but big changes will be present in the wts too in the future .

I don't see why this type of behavior is celebrated. I understand being okay with gay relationships, but celebrating it as if its some sort of positive is confusing. Celebrating homosexuality is basically reverse evolution.

One aspect of evolution that does not make sense.....
by EndofMysteries inthe part that does make sense are how bodies adapt over time to surroundings and use.
for example because of eating habits changing, our jaws have become smaller and we don't need wisdom teeth.
or the effect of the sun on our skin, etc.

But I think that Space Madness was the one who came into the conversation specifically to stir the pot. His posts here and here were more or less trolling.
Really? You are a special type of stupid. In the post that you claim I was "trolling" I made the exact same observation you made, which is everyone was just brushing off EOM's question by telling him to read a book. I even complimented you for being the only one to give a serious non-condesing response and you say I'm "trolling". You sir are an idiot. Next time you think I'm trolling why don't you just call me out on the spot rather than insulting me behind my back you coward.
By the way your response to bohm on how magnets works just shows how much of a dumbass you truly are. "The magnet is being pulled by atomic forces inside itself." WTF does that even mean? A two second google search could of given you a better answer than that you assclown.

@cofty
False premise that creatures adapt to their environment? Isn't a chameleon changing its color to match its surrounding adapting to its environment? Every response I read has been just like yours. All I asked was for one post that answers the question and you respond by telling me to re-read the thread. You claimed the question was answered many times yet you refuse to quote one of the many answers. Its evident none of you understand your own beliefs. If you did you wouldn't be posting links to random articles or be answering every question with go read a book. If you actually understood your beliefs you'd be able to explain them yourselves. Just like how I can explain algebra to my niece without telling her to read a book or linking random articles that I didn't read.

I see a ton of responses to EOM's question but I don't see any answers. Can you quote the response that you feel answers the question?

Bumping to see OTWO's response. It appears a lot of the supporters of evolution are being exposed for not understanding their own beliefs.
